Donald Hobert Davenport

Donald Hobert Davenport, 74, of Helena, died on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.

Mr. Davenport served many years in the Navy and the National Guard. He was a member of the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and worked with Gay Construction Company.

He was married to Barbara LaFavor Davenport and was the son of the late Reid Hobert and Siddie Louise Davenport. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Trenton Chance Bush.

Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The Rev. Glen Hancock and Mr. Bo Jackson will officiate.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara LaFavor Davenport of Helena; 3 children, Laura (Kenneth) Hayes of Calhoun, Reid Davenport of Marietta, Renita Davenport of Kennesaw; 5 grandchildren; 1 brother, Hugh (Sharon) Davenport of Jasper.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at the funeral home.
