On Wednesday, October 16, 2013, Donald Wood Callaway, 69, passed away at the Carl Vinson VA Hospital in Dublin.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19 at the Scotland City Cemetery. The Rev. Ray Harris will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 18 at the funeral home.

He was the son of the late George Willard and Hilda Thigpen Callaway of Scotland and was married to Joyce Ashley Callaway. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, and had retired from the Georgia Dept. of Correction at the Telfair State Prison.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Callaway and a sister, Debra McDaniel.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Callaway of Scotland; 2 daughters, Donita (Daniel) Brault of Martinton, Illinois and Rebecca (Watson) Jackson of Scotland; 5 grandchildren, Daniel Brault, Cody Jackson, Caitlyn Brault, Garrett Jackson, Luke Jackson; 1 great-grandchild, Jordan Brault; 1 sister, Diane Callaway of Eastman.
