Longwood, Fla. – Ottis Fred Hall age 92. He passed into his eternal rest on Feb 05, 2013. He was born July 30, 1920 in Helena, Telfair Co., Ga. He was the son of the late James Axam & Nannie Burch Hall of Helena, Ga. He is predeceased by his brother James Axam Hall 2nd of Montrose, Pa. and his sister Mary Helen Hall Timberlake Struthers of Richmond, Va. He is also predeceased by his wife Viola Mary Hellman of Glastonbury, Conn.. He is survived by his daughters: Christine (Tina) Mary Flood and husband Paul of Stuart, Fla., Meridith Paris and husband Phil of Longwood, Fla. and 6 granddaughters 4 great-grandchildren.. Fred got his high school diploma from McRae High School, in McRae, Ga. And as he spent 30 years in the US Navy, he took every opportunity to improve himself, he attended and excelled at the following schools; metal smith, welding, heat treating, communications, salvage, deep water diving, under water demolition, air conditioning, refrigeration, fire fighting, atomic biological & chemical warfare, ship handling (entering docking and leaving harbor) supply & commissary, legal (Naval justice), And a Civilian school: Institute for boiler, radiator mfgs., and retired as Chief Warrant Officer in 1968. He is also survived by his nephew James Axam Hall 3rd o of Henderson, NC, and wife Frances and their 3 children and their mates and offsprings. Interment will be in The Helena, Ga. Cemetery beside his Mama & Papa in the Hall plot. He was a God fearing, honest and sober man. The 3 loves of his life were: The God that saw him through the war, love of family, and for his Navy. Funeral arrangement will be by Lowe's Funeral Home of Helena Ga. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Kenneth White of McRae. Graveside service will be on Fri. Feb 08, 2013 at 11.00 AM. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Disabled American Veterans. You may register online condolences at lowesfuneralhome.net
