Obituary

Mr. Charlie Grimsley age 93 of Helena, Ga died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at his residence.

The funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M. Monday, February 20, 2017 from the Graveside in Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. James Hammock will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home before going to Zion Hope Church Cemetery.

Mr. Grimsley was a member of Zion Hope Baptist Church and had served as a Deacon for many years; A Gideon and a Scrap Iron Artist. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Terrell Grimsley and Mary Margaret (Mamie) Shaw Grimsley; daughter, Judy Crumbly; grandson, Charlie Smith; brothers and sisters, James Grimsley, Maude Bowen, Madge Hoft, Mary Helen Strayer, Buck Grimsley and Laura Grimsley.

Survivors include his wife, Nell Grimsley of Helena; children, Linda (Charles) Smith of Pearson, Ruby Reaves of Helena, Ricky Grimsley of Helena; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made to the Sailor Kate Ministry % of the Merchants and Citizens Bank, P.O. Box 55658, McRae Helena, Georgia 31055.
