Charles Lee Mathis, 78, of McRae, died on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 surrounded by his family .

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton Mathis and Ollie Mae Brewer Mathis; brothers and sisters, Clayton Mathis, Lawton Mathis, Oveda Ashley, Jeanna Quick, Maudine Conley.

He was a charter member of Telfair County Exchange Club, McRae City Council Member for 10 years, a avid hunter and fisherman and retired with Vought Aircraft in the maintenance department.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Saturday, March 31st in the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Telfair Memorial Gardens.

The Lay Minister Norwood Davidson will officiate.

Survivors include his wife, Ann B. Mathis of McRae; 2 children, Alisa (Tony) Barnett of Southern Pines, NC, Lee Mathis of McRae; 2 grandchildren, Kayleigh (Ben) Mussen of Clarksville, TN, Trevor Barnett of Southern Pines, NC; 1 brother, Richard (Joyce) Mathis of Gray; 2 sisters, Geraldine McMillian of Bronwood, Lynn (Glenn) Bonnette of Warner Robins; 1 sister-in-law, Glenice Mathis of Savannah.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 30th at the funeral home.
