Charles Leon Carmichael

Charles Leon Carmichael, age 96, of Milan, Georgia, passed away on April 24, 2026 at Southern Oaks Personal Care Home in Tifton, Georgia. He was born on November 12, 1929, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Joe Francis Carmichael and Lois Smith Carmichael.

Funeral Services will be held at Rockwell Baptist Church on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Benny Moore officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.

Charles was raised in Macon and spent most of his life there. During his early years, he served in the United States Army, before dedicating many years to his career with Colonial and Big Star Groceries. After retirement, he later returned to the workforce for a time with Starr Electric. Later in life, he moved to Milan, Georgia, to be near his wife, Eva's, family. He was a member of Rockwell Baptist Church.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory and the role he played in their lives. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 75 years, Eva Marchant Carmichael; his parents, Joe and Lois Carmichael; his sister, Betty Robinson; and his brothers, James Carmichael, Ray Carmichael, and Paul Carmichael.

His memory will remain a blessing to his family and friends, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
