Charles Alvin Ashley Sr.

Charles Alvin Ashley Sr., 78, of Scotland, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016, in Dublin.

Charles was married to Shirley Walker Ashley and was the son of the Late James Howell and Elvie Johnson Ashley. He retired from General Telephone. He was a member of Scotland Baptist Church and had served in the United States Navy.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 2nd in the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Scotland City Cemetery.

Dr. Donnie Sutton will officiate.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ashley of Scotland; 2 sons, Charles Ashley and Chris (Jaime) Ashley both of Scotland; 4 grandchildren, Michelle Ashley of Athens, Charles Alvin Ashley of McRae, Marcie Floyd of Scotland and Emalee Ashley of Scotland; several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, September 1st at the funeral home.
