Bertha Mae (Lucy) Spires

Bertha Mae (Lucy) Spires, age 92, of McRae, died on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at her residence.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, George Ross Spires and her parents, Winfred Scott Smith and Iduma Salis Smith.

She was a homemaker. Lucy was a charter and the oldest member of Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include her 3 children, Wanda (William) Smith of McRae, Myra (William) Lowe of Conyers, Garry (Elaine) Spires of McRae; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in the Telfair Memorial Gardens.

The Rev. Alvin Lewis, the Rev. Newly Ray and the Rev. Darren Talley will officiate.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the Southside Baptist Church, P.O. Box 55516, McRae Helena, Georgia 31055.
