Arcadia Runette (Williams) Broome, age 93, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on July 9, 2026, at The Gardens @ Royal Oaks in Dalton, Georgia.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Blockhouse Baptist Church Cemetery at 10:30 A.M. Harrington Littell, Jr. will officiate. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service.

Runette was born on August 31, 1932, in Jacksonville, Georgia, to the late Dave and Effie Williams, and lived a long life marked by kindness, strength, and love for the people around her. Runette was known by those who loved her as a kind and spirited woman whose presence brought warmth and encouragement to her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was employed with the media center at the Dougherty County School System for many years, where she served with care and dedication. Her professional life was a meaningful part of her story, and she carried herself with the same grace and reliability in her work that she showed in every other part of her life. She was a faithful member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church in Albany.

Family was at the center of Runette's heart. She is survived by her daughters, Janice Broome Littell (Harrington "Kim") of Dalton, and Joy Broome Jones (Bob) of Tunnel Hill. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Melanie Childers (Mark Zimmer), Brian Dale (Christi), Jack Dale (Lisa), Eva Littell Doan, and Harrington Littell III. In addition, she was blessed with 16 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren, each of whom brought joy and pride to her life. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who will remember her with love and gratitude.

Runette was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse W. Broome, her parents, Dave and Effie Williams, and by her brothers, J.D. Williams, Fred Williams, Royce Williams, Horace Williams, Herman Williams, Bruce Williams, and Marion Williams. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Marjorie Harrell and Hazel Wilcox, along with several nieces and nephews.

Arcadia Runette (Williams) Broome leaves behind a legacy of love, family devotion, and enduring kindness. Her life touched many, and her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were blessed to know her.
