Ann Housend Purvis, 81, of Helena, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at New Bethel Baptist Church, Helena, with interment in the church cemetery.

The Rev. Nolan McDaniel, the Rev. Ray Harris and the Rev. Chris Clifton will officiate.

Mrs. Purvis was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Purvis; parents, Eschol and Edna Ward Housend and a sister, Harriet Stanley.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She will be remembered by family and friends as a loving and caring person.

Survivors include her children, Hugh (Sandra) Purvis of McRae and Beth (Russell) Owens of McRae; 4 grandchildren, Jessica (Ray) McFaddin of Sardinia, S.C., Gregory Purvis of Hampton, Heather Owens of Dublin and Carmen Owens of Atlanta; 2 great-grandchildren, Audrey and Colton McFaddin.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 15, at the funeral home.
