Anita James Sammons

Anita James Sammons, 63, of Alamo, died on Thursday, August 25, 2016, in Lumber City.

Mrs. Sammons was born in Mississippi, but had lived in Alamo for many years. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Springhill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Michael Sammons; parents, Lester M. and Montez Gable James.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 28 at the Free Chapel, Lumber City. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City.

The Rev. Bobby Toole will officiate.

Survivors include; 2 sons, Sterling (Michelle) Carlisle of Atlanta and Dan (Debbie) Carlisle of Panama City, Florida; 1 daughter, Jessica (James) Gresham of Helena; grandchildren, Meghan Carlisle, Chandler Carlisle, Brayden Carlisle, Logan Carlisle, April Ward, Crystal Ward, Gracie Gresham and Sophia Gresham; special friend, Frank Ryals of Alamo: brothers and sisters, Rozanne Henson of Atlanta, Lucy, Morris James of Louisiana and Keith James of Atlanta.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday, August 27 at Lowe's Funeral Home.
