Graveside Services for Alvie Alex Bass of McRae, will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday,

March 2 at the Telfair Memorial Gardens in McRae.

The Rev. Alvin Lewis will officiate.

Mr. Bass, 90, died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 in Lower Oconee Hospital in Glenwood. He was the son of the late James Alex and Sara Annie Caldwell Bass and was the widower of Ruth Catherine Neal Bass.

He was a member of the Helena United Methodist Church and was a contractor.

He was a life long resident of Telfair County.

Survivors include his children, Tom (Julie) Bass of Helena, John A. (Deborah) Bass of Sally, S.C. and Cathy (Wendell) Towns of McRae; 7 grandchildren, John A. Bass Jr., Kevin Bass, Lydia Shelton, Benjie Towns, Alexis Short, Tim Towns, and Brock Bass;

5 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Billy (Pauline) Bass of Lakeland, Fl.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1 at the funeral home.
